Getting better

So it has been quiet without Klausy-boy around, still miss him very much. I think Ozzie is starting to get over it also, he is starting to eat again and has a little more pep. I am in my 4th week of training for the 5k. I ran yesterday with the group for 27 minutes, I think that was 2.25 miles - straight thru, without stopping. I was so proud of myself. I really like running with a group. It keeps you motivated !!! So I have every confidence that I will be able to run the whole 3.1 miles in October. I am really looking forward to it. Had a wet by good weekend. Went to the 1154 Lill sample sale on Saturday morning - got a few goodies that I didn't need. But some may be gifts. Then Sunday went to the Bongo room for breakfast with Barb, Melissa and Christine. It was really good. Then we went to the Renegade Craft Fair on division. Even though it was constantly raining, we still went - glad we did, got some cool stuff - earrings, wrislet purse, this cool ipod shuffle holder.

Sad Day

It is a very sad day today as I had to make the decision to put one of my dogs to sleep today. He had a large mass in his bladder and prostate. I couldn't let him have an uncertain future of pain and misery. I will truly miss him, the house already seems empty without him. There are a lot of things around the house that remind me of him. He was a really good , smart dog. He drove me nuts sometimes, but really just wanted to be loved. I adopted him six years ago from the shelter. They thought he was abused, so he was a very scared dog. He just wanted a good family and I am glad I was able to give him a loving home for the short time I could. I will miss you very much Klaus - aka- Klaus-see boy, aka- big German. I hope there are many tennis balls in doggy heaven !!!

So today I ran 6 minutes, walked 2, ran 6, walked 2, ran 6, walked 2, ran 2 and then walked the rest. That was 3 miles and took about 45 minutes. This running is tough. It was warm out today. Maybe I should have lot 25 pounds before I started this running thing. I really will be shocked if I manage to run the whole 5K in October. I am really slow, but a friend of mine says not to worry about speed and to push myself a little bit further each time. I thought it would be easier each time, but my legs feel kinds heavy at the beginning. I have rest day tomorrow, maybe I will do a yoga DVD at home. Then Wednesday I run with the group - she said we would be running 5 and walking 1 for 1.75 miles. I can do this this (right?) yes I can !!! I am doing more than a bunch of other people are doing. My friend has helped in motivating me, he is a really great resource for the sport!! GIVE ME STRENGTH
